Southern Health Evidence Service

The role of the 'Southern Health Evidence Service' is to encourage and support health professionals, managers and policy makers at Southern Health to use the best available evidence to improve healthcare.

The Centre for Clinical Effectiveness (CCE) provides information, expertise and resources to assist health service personnel in getting evidence from research into clinical practice and evaluating the effects on patient care.

CCE supports evidence-based decision-making at Southern Health by:

• Providing expertise, advice and assistance to individuals, working parties and committees to use evidence in decision-making for example the Southern Health Technology/Clinical Practice Committee
• Completing evidence reviews to inform decisions at organisation-wide or program levels
• Supporting evidence-based projects in clinical settings
• Developing, delivering and evaluating education  in evidence-based practice
