Evidence Based Clinical Practice EducationRole The Monash Institute of Health Services Research is responsible for coordinating and delivering the Evidence Based Clinical Practice component under the 'Population Health, Society and Illness' theme for the Monash University undergraduate MBBS degree. Activities Evidence Based Clinical Practice Education is delivered as a year long subject to both 3rd and 4th year MBBS students. The subject aims to equip students with the skills to identify, appraise, integrate and evaluate the best available evidence relevant to their clinical training and practice. The 3rd year subject is delivered through a series of lectures and tutorials across ten metropolitan and rural clinical sites. The 4th year subject is delivered online, with supplementary tutorial sessions. In 2007 Evidence Based Clinical Practice will also be taught in Malaysia as part of the new MBBS degree offered by Monash Malaysia. The Evidence Based Clinical Practice course will also be a part of the new graduate entry MBBS degree to commence in 2008. Staff Dragan Ilic Dragan Ilic is the Senior Lecturer in Evidence Based Clinical Practice and is responsible for coordinating the undergraduate Evidence Based Clinical Practice curriculum. In addition to his teaching commitments, Dragan also has a keen research interest in men's reproductive health issues. In 2006 Dragan submitted his thesis, which investigated the role of patient education in prostate cancer screening. Dragan has also completed a variety of projects investigating consumer and health professional attitudes towards prostate cancer, erectile dysfunction and androgen deficiency.
