Community Asthma Education Service

Health for Kids has developed a Community Asthma Education Service.

The service is designed to:

• build links between hospital and community-based clinicians,
• ensure patients receive consistent advice
• improve services for children with asthma.

Two Paediatric Asthma Nurse Educators provide asthma education to children with asthma and their families, and also work with schools, maternal-child health nurses, GPs and pharmacists.

The service is provided in

• the Cities of Kingston and Bayside at Central Bayside Community Health Services
• the City of Casey at Casey-Cardinia Community Health Services.
